Once placed, the separators gradually expand and exert pressure on the teeth over a period of time. This pressure helps to create sufficient space between the teeth for the placement of orthodontic appliances without causing discomfort to the patient.

They are made with advanced memory polymer and are latex free and stain and tear resistant. Elastosure Separators are intended for temporary placement and are typically left in position for a few days before the placement of orthodontic bands or brackets. After creating the desired space, the separators are removed before proceeding with the next step of treatment.
